Werkmania is an independent publication about watches, the people who make them and the stories that make them worth caring about.
It started with Hungarian roots and a simple idea: watch journalism should be informed without becoming sterile, enthusiastic without becoming advertising, and technical without forgetting that people wear these objects in the real world.
Werkmania International is the English-language edition. The focus remains the same: mechanical and quartz watches, hands-on reviews, industry news, history, design, technology and the occasional story that sits just outside the watch box but still belongs in the same world.
Who is behind Werkmania?
I’m Tamás, founder and editor of Werkmania. I write, photograph, test, research and argue with myself about watches so you don’t have to. The goal is not to repeat a specification sheet. It is to explain what a watch is, where it came from, why it matters and what it actually feels like to live with.
What you can expect here
Werkmania covers established Swiss and Japanese brands, accessible everyday watches, serious tool watches, quartz technology, mechanical complications, independent makers and the history behind familiar names. Hands-on experience matters, but so does context: price, competition, movement, design decisions and the stories manufacturers sometimes leave between the lines.
Independence and transparency
Editorial judgement belongs to Werkmania. Review samples, press material, invitations or commercial relationships do not buy a positive opinion. When a commercial relationship materially affects a piece of content, it should be identifiable as such. Images supplied by manufacturers are credited where appropriate.
